A SOCIAL HISTORY OF THE UNITED
STATES
FROM 1945
TO 2018:
With 20/20
Hindsight
(Soft Cover & eBook)
This book was not easy to write because the times being reviewed
for the book were so familiar to the author. This should have made the book more readily
produced, but it takes the passage of time and then hindsight/consideration to determine
which events had the most impact on the current period.
Some events in 1945 have shaped the society of the United States today in
very significant ways. At the time, these events seemed less important. It has turned out
differently.
The book relates the history that shaped the United States of 1945... it
started in 1914 with the beginning of World War I, then the Pandemic, Prohibition, the
Jazz Age, Depression, and Dust Bowl. These last social influences ended nearly overnight
with the start of the World War II.
In 1945 there was a new world; World War II was over and the United
States started becoming what it is today and what it will be for the foreseeable
future.
